Renting a
kayak to enjoy a walk around the bay.

Visiting
the Guerrero lagoon, called the Manatee Sanctuary, a place famous for the recurring arrival of manatees, among them “Daniel” a baby manatee that was found as a newborn in this lagoon in 2003. This was the first experience in manatee rescue and rehabilitation activities in Chetumal.

Taking a
boat tour and getting to know the “Cay Route”, start by visiting Tamalcab Island, and be amazed by its white sands and crystal clear shallow waters, located within Chetumal Bay. Continue the tour and marvel at Cayo Violín, Cayo Palometa, Cayo Tigre, small islets surrounded by mangroves that contribute to the conservation of the ecosystem; and don't miss Cayo Bota and Cayo Venado where their lush tropical vegetation composed of jungle, white sand and crystal clear waters are ideal for enjoying this true paradise with the family in the middle of the immense sea, come and rejoice in a well-deserved unforgettable rest. The tour lasts between approximately 4 and 5 hours.
Visiting Dos Hermanos which is located 35 minutes from Calderitas by sea, a place with calm waters, ideal for sport fishing, boat tours and bird watching. It receives its name because they are two remote islets in the eastern part of the Bay where a wide variety of exotic birds live, such as cormorants, herons and frigates. With a little luck you can even spot crocodiles. The fauna can be seen very well from the 30-meter-high tourist viewpoint installed especially in front of the islets for that purpose.

Don't forget to ask any boiler restaurant about boat trips to these majestic places.
